BUYING A HORSE IS A MASSIVE DECISION: Not just from the cost point of view but also the emotional commitment required. Its therefore important you buy the right horse for you and your circumstances. You need to take your time and if novice or inexperienced make sure you bring someone more experienced who understands your needs and knows your riding level. Whilst we try our best to match horses to riders its very difficult in such a short time frame to gauge your true riding level. Ultimately it’s your decision with regards suitability and we can only advise. No horse is perfect or bombproof as so often claimed. They will all have their strengths and weaknesses and its always going to be a compromise between the positives and negatives. If you’re looking for a horse that is 100% in every way you won’t find it here or at any other stables for that matter.

YOU HAVE TO BE REALISTIC: Or sadly somewhere along the line you’re going to disappointed. We can only go so far in assessing any horse in the time we have had it and as this is usually weeks not months we can only offer a best opinion of how we have found any animal to be whilst with us. With regards to a horses history as we have not owned the horse since birth or it can NOT be verified 100% we will assess a horse on what we see in front of us not what we have been told. It’s for these potential pitfalls we have gone to great length to  design our warranty and backup to cover most eventualities and minimise the risk of you the customer getting it wrong and being stuck with a unsuitable horse.

NOVICE RIDERS & OWNERS: We are very happy to sell horses to novice owners & riders and have many horses that are suitable. The problem is we want them to stay that way. Horses regardless of how good or well schooled in the wrong inexperienced hands have the capacity to change character both riding wise and behavioural wise. They also react differently to different people, situations and location. Its for these reasons we would always insist novice owners have someone experienced they can turn to for help & advice. Its a sad fact that when things go wrong in the horse/owner relationship its always the horse that gets the blame never the owner. In our experience this is rarely the case. So if your novice bring a friend, have the horse vetted and take advice.

The Love of Heavy Horses.

If like us you adore this type of horse then you really do need to visit us. We normally have at least 6 usually more available for sale ranging from £2000 to £4000. We can also buy on your behalf foals to stallions, mares and geldings, please email your requirements as were in Europe most weeks buying. The popularity of this fantastic breed has recently gone crazy after they featured in the recent Martin Clunes, Heavy Horse Power TV documentary. If you never saw it you really should as it demonstrates the qualities of these fantastic horses. They are massive making Shires look positively anorexic yet there very lovable and gentle and enjoy nothing more than a good grooming session. Also despite their size very economical to keep, as you can now sell the family car and all jump aboard this true form of horse power and yes they will even tow the caravan for you too. Joking aside,  we are championing this breed and as far as I’m aware  we are the only ones importing them on a regular basis. So if you would like to meet and try these horses, your very welcome to visit our friendly informal stables anytime without obligation to purchase. I guarantee like us you’ll become a big fan and those weakling shire/cob types just won’t do. They range from 15.3 to 18hh but its not the height that makes them so impressive, its the bulk or body size. Yet they are not generally heavy or sluggish in movement, but light and easy to ride off the leg given their size. So if its safe, drama free fun hacking your looking for then look no further.
